Stitch Day 2021 !

If you don’t already know, today is Stitch day ! My favorite little alien buddy aka Experiment 626 gets a whole day for people to celebrate him. I look forward to this day every year, since I get to wear all my stitch gear and see everyone’s awesome Stitch collections online. My boyfriend and I are major collectors in general but I must admit I have more varieties of collectibles than he does. One of my biggest and forever growing collections is Stitch themed !

Now I’m a huge Disney fan in general, but one of my favorite movies of all time is Lilo and Stitch. When I first watched it as a kid, I fell in love with this dog that Lilo meets and gets to adopt. Sure, he was an alien and a little destructive, but you couldn’t help but fall in love with him and want him in real life. I think my actual urge to collect Stitch things didn’t really start until I got older. As I try to think back and remember what my first Stitch collectible was, I don’t think I can pinpoint it. I remember certain moments in life when I found Stitch collectibles and since then my collection just kind of grew exponentially as more companies came out with Stitch themed items.

One memory I do have is of my first Stitch Funko pop. It’s Stitch in his little red spaceship called ‘The Red One’. If you don’t know Funko, they specialize in all things pop culture. Their figures are extremely popular and they are always putting out new pops in multiple lines. Stitch has a pretty good sized lineup with some figures including Lilo, Angel, and Scrump. All can be found on the Funko app and those still available can be found on Funko’s website here. One new pop that was released today was a diamond glitter Stitch with ukulele, exclusive to Entertainment Earth and can be pre-ordered here. Funko doesn’t just do pops either. They have keychains, mystery figures, Pez dispensers, plushies and more. They also currently own Loungefly, who designs themed backpacks, bags and pins. Their whimsical Stitch designs can be found here.

I feel like Stitch can be found everywhere now, and below is just a small picture of some of the Stitch items I have.

In this picture we have plushies, stitch lights, Funko mystery figures, a Disney nuimo figure, a Banpresto fluffy puffy figure, a Beast Kingdom diorama and a Japan Disney poncho. All items I’ve accumulated over the years and have on display in my house. The nuimo figure and a few of the plushies I found at shopDisney including the new weighted plush on the left side. The Stitch crashes Disney pin book in the middle is part of the new monthly series Disney is doing. You can watch the Stitch Crashes Disney video and see the upcoming month releases here. The Stitch lights, poncho and cherry blossom Nuimo costume I got at Tokyo Kawaii Club. They are based in Japan and offer adorable Disney merch from the parks there. The Funko mystery figures were a gift from my boyfriend and everything else I found on various collectible sites. If you collect Disney keys, a new Stitch set was also released today that can be found here.

I did see Downtown Disney has some new Stitch merch as well, and I’m hoping they’ll be put up on the site soon. We plan to go there at the end of July so maybe they’ll still be available then. Some other Stitch themed items I have include pajamas, a robe, sweatshirts, pins, a hand puppet, tsum tsums and pops. I’m sure there’s more packed away and one day when we have space to display everything I’ll take photos. I also talk about Loungefly here but I actually don’t have any Stitch bags. I fear once I get one I’ll want them all.

Other places I’ve found Stitch themed collectibles are Beast Kingdom, Sideshow Collectibles, Good Smile Company, Hot Topic, Box Lunch, Big Bad Toy Store, Entertainment Earth, and Charmed Aroma (Canada only for Stitch). That’s all I can remember for now, but as I think of more I’ll be sure to add them here.

I hope you enjoyed a little peek into my collection and my unfortunate spending habits. Even if you’re not a major Stitch fan, he’s still a fun character to look at.

Happy Stitch day !!
